Connect an AI assistant

Connect RecordKeeper to ChatGPT

Ask ChatGPT about your own health records — your medications, labs, appointments, and vitals — with you choosing exactly what it can see.

Set it up

  1. 1
Add a custom server in ChatGPT
In ChatGPT on the web, go to chatgpt.com/plugins, select the + button, then Add custom MCP server.
  2. 2
Name it and paste the address
Name it RecordKeeper. Under Connection, paste:
    https://app.recordkeeperapp.com/v1/mcp
  3. 3
    Set up sign-in
For authentication, choose OAuth. Where it asks for a client ID, enter chatgpt. Leave the client secret empty.
  4. 4
    Confirm and create
Read the warning, select I understand and want to continue, then Create as a plugin.
  5. 5
Sign in and choose what ChatGPT can see
A RecordKeeper page opens. Sign in with your email code, untick any sections you want to keep out, and choose Allow.
  6. 6
    Ask away
In a new chat, type @ and pick RecordKeeper, then ask something like “What medications am I taking?”

Your ChatGPT plan or workplace settings decide whether you can add custom servers. If a screen doesn't match these steps, the details to enter stay the same: the address in step 2, and client ID chatgpt.

What ChatGPT can and can't do

You choose the sections
The sign-in page lists what the assistant asked for. Untick anything you'd rather keep out. It sees only what you leave on.
Read only
It can look things up and explain them. It can't add, change, or delete anything in your records.
Some things never leave
Visit transcripts, your safety plan, ID cards, your password vault, and anything you've marked Private are never offered to any assistant.
You can see every read
Settings → Integrations → Connected Apps shows each assistant, what it may read, and what it actually read in the last 30 days.
Disconnect in one tap
Tap Disconnect in Connected Apps and it's cut off immediately, whatever the assistant does on its side.
Part of RecordKeeper Plus
Connecting outside apps and assistants is included with Plus. Without it, the sign-in page offers an upgrade instead.

Once ChatGPT reads something, it becomes part of your ChatGPT conversation, which OpenAI's privacy policy covers, not ours. ChatGPT explains and summarizes; it doesn't replace your clinician.
